The Town Council is planning a number of exciting events to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee in June 2012.  The four-days of activities commences on the afternoon of Saturday 2 June and finishes on Tuesday 4 June 2012.  The draft programme below gives you a flavour of what we are hoping to achieve for our residents and visitors.

SATURDAY 2 JUNE

1pm-4pm                  Fun in the Park and Dance Festival - Abbey Grounds                              

Evening                     Jubilee Ball - Guildhall

SUNDAY 3 JUNE

Morning                     Civic Service - St Helen's Church

12.30pm                   Street Party - Ock Street (White Horse Pub) to junction of West St Helen Street  (see application form below to book a space)

6pm                        Bun Throwing from the roof of County Hall Museum, Market Place                    

Evening                     Proms in the Park & Firework Display, Abbey Grounds

MONDAY 4 JUNE

During Day               Tours of Abingdon - starting from the Market Place

Evening                     Live coverage of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee BBC Concert, followed by a firework display - Abbey Grounds

                                   Lighting of the Beacon - venue to be confirmed

TUESDAY 5 JUNE  

Morning                     Live television coverage of the Service of Thanksgiving from St Paul's Cathedral, Abbey Grounds.

Street Party - Ock Street/High Street
