Korfball is a mixed team sport invented in Holland in 1903. A team normally has four female and four male players. You are welcome at the club with no previous experience. A few basic rules to start you off - the ball is similar to a football or netball, you score by shooting a ball through a basket set in a post 3.5m off the floor. You can only shoot if you shake off your marker, but you can't run with the ball. Hit, shove, kick, punch, spit or otherwise abuse your opponent and the referee gives a penalty.
