Abingdon is a Fair Trade Town
 As one of the first towns in Britain to achieve this status, town organisations are encouraged to use Fair Trade produce and for town retail
outlets to stock Fair Trade and fairly traded goods alongside other items.

Abingdon Area Journey Planning
Abingdon area has a new service to advise people on journey planning by public transport.  This service is specifically for people aged over 65 or anyone with a high level of support needs.  The Oxfordshire Travel Advice Line is open during office hours 9am to 5pm on weekdays - 01865 323738. The page for Oxfordshire in the Phonebook as well as the County website gives numbers for the public transport management team. 

Information about independent living
The Guideposts Trust Independent Living Centre, in partnership with Oxfordshire County Council, provides information on products and organisations to assist people with disabilities and older people to increase and maintain their independence.  The Centre, based in Witney, provides this service to any adult residing in Oxfordshire.  The Centre has a showroom with equipment for the kitchen, lounge, bedroom and bathroom.  Two Occupational Therapists are available for personal and confidential consultations, by appointment.  There is also an Information Line available 01993 899985.
