Philip Neale is currently chairman of the T E Lawrence Society. Not only was Lawrence an accomplished archaeologist from an early age but his experiences in the Middle East as an archaeologist enabled him to perform a key role in the region, at the outbreak of the First World War. Recent archaeology has uncovered remarkable evidence of his exploits in the Arab Revolt.
