The club was first formed as Oxon & Bucks Branch of the British Woodcarvers Association in May 2005 by a group of enthusiastic amateur carvers and tutor Brian Eastoe. Many of us attended the evening classes at Abingdon College, we were keen when Brian, also a member of the British Woodcarvers Association suggested the club. We were joined by existing members of BWA in Oxon and Buckinghamshire. The majority of us are hobbyists with 1 to 20 years experience.
Our members range from some seriously good photographers to near beginners, all with one aim – to improve at their hobby in an enjoyable atmosphere. Whatever your level of expertise, type of equipment, or particular photographic interests, you will be very welcome at our meetings. You don’t even have to own a camera to become a member; just have an interest in photography!
Our meetings are held every Thursday from September to May, in All Saints’ Methodist Church Hall, Dorchester Crescent (off Appleford Drive), Abingdon OX14 2AQ, situated behind the Boundary House Pub, Oxford Road, where there is a handy bus-stop.
Meet at John Mason School during term time, Thursdays between 7pm and 9.00pm. New Members always welcome.

Abbey Meadows Lacemakers meet monthly on Tuesdays (daytime) at Preston Road Community Centre, Midget Close, OX14 5NR.
Established 1885. Meetings and shows are held in the Northcourt Centre.
Abingdon Flower Club meets monthly at the Northcourt Centre and has a mixture of demonstrations, practical workshops and members special evenings. They also like to be involved and support special events as well as staging flower festivals in our beautiful town.
Thursday night films, always the best of classic and alternative films October to April. Membership is available for the town’s commercial cinema.
