DESCRIPTION:ATOM Society brings you a highly topical talk about energy from nuclear fusion by Chris Warrick at 19:30 on Tuesday (new weekday this year!) 20th June 2023 in Abingdon United Football Club\, Northcourt Rd\, OX14 1PL\, Abingdon. \nFusing hydrogen atoms together has the potential to provide a near-limitless\, safe\, and clean source of carbon-free energy. This has been a scientific “Holy Grail” since the 1950s but still has a long way to go.  Recent results from US and UK scientists have been encouraging; researchers confirmed they have overcome a major barrier – producing more energy from a fusion experiment than was put in. \nChris is a physics-trained technical consultant\, passionate about driving the transition to clean energy.
