SUMMARY:Community Apple Pressing
DESCRIPTION:Is your garden full of windfall apples? Why not bring them to one of our apple-pressing sessions and press them into delicious\, healthy juice? We provide chopping boards\, jugs\, an electric crusher\, 20-litre apple press\, and a pasteuriser. You bring the apples\, and clean empty screwtop glass bottles (if you want to pasteurise) or any container if you are going to drink it within a week! 2Kg of apples makes about 1 litre of juice. Volunteers will help you\, and we make a charge of 30p per bottle for using the equipment\, 40p if you pasteurise them too. \nIf you have a lot of apples\, and don’t need help using the equipment\, we suggest you book an afternoon slot\, 1-3.30pm and have the equipment to yourself. Or you can hire all the equipment to use at home for a small fee – contact susiehoward1@gmail.com to arrange a date. It can be a good fundraiser for a PTA\, scout or guide troop\, or a village charity.
