SUMMARY:Empowering Young People in Fact and Fiction
DESCRIPTION:Sylvia and Nancy will be talking about their joint-publication: Not so Black and White\, a compelling work of fiction inspired by Nancy’s life experiences growing up in a small village in Western Kenya\, and also another Nasio publication: Cosmic Cats\, an anthology of stories by children from Mumias Township Primary School in Kenya and St Swithun’s CE Primary School in Oxford. Abingdon-based charity the Nasio Trust has at its heart the empowerment of communities in western Kenya to break the cycle of poverty by providing education\, healthcare\, and opportunities for income-generation to create sustainable communities. \nTickets £2 to include a free welcome drink\, available from Abingdon Library on 01865 815005 or email abingdon.library@oxfordshire.gov.uk.
