Exhibition: Creativity in the Collection
‘Creativity Unwrapped’ is this year’s theme of the Heritage Open Days Festival, and for the occasion Abingdon will celebrate the arts and creativity of the town.
From 8th to 17th September Abingdon Museum will have a special exhibition ‘Creativity in the Collection’ exhibiting the Oswald Couldrey’s watercolours of Abingdon. They are views of well-known Abingdon streets and were created in the 1930s and 1940s. While they are realistic depictions of what Couldrey saw, he viewed them with an artist’s eye and composed them with an artist’s sensibilities, making them his unique creations, yet at the same time instantly recognisable. We will also show selected items from the costume collection which are rarely on display and which showcase the makers’ creativity and imagination.
Location: Attic Gallery
