Fantastic music from ACCord\, Rule of Six and the JAM Band \nCome and enjoy a classic hog roast with all the trimmings (freshly baked rolls\, crackling\, stuffing\, apple sauce etc) along with a side and desert. Vegetarian? We have you covered with stuffed mushroom with fresh herbs and cheese dipped in garlic butter! The evening will include musical entertainment from some fantastic local groups: \n  \nAbingdon Community Choir (ACCord) \nRule of Six \nThe JAM Band \n  \nRule of Six: \n  \nRule of Six was formed just prior to the pandemic of 2020. At a time when it was prohibited to meet in groups of more than six people\, it seemed only right to name themselves after the very rule that informed their lineup. \nWith repertoire ranging from renaissance madrigals to modern day pop\, jazz and Disney classics\, Rule of Six have wowed audiences both in person and online with their warmth\, blend and sense of humour. \nDescribed as “a group to keep your eye (and ear!) on” by former King’s Singer Philip Lawson\, Rule of Six look forward to meeting you at a concert soon and sharing the magic of a cappella music! \n  \nOur social media is @ruleofsixchoir on Facebook and Instagram \n  \n  \nAbingdon Community Choir (ACCord): \n  \nAbingdon Community Choir (ACCord) has been running for the past decade in Abingdon. It is a community choir run by Abingdon Music Centre and over the years had performed publicly in many local events. We pride ourselves on being inclusive. To join the choir you need no prior experience\, coming along to enjoy the singing and make some new friends is the real basis of the group. \n  \nWe do not use sheet music and learn everything by rote (with written lyrics!) and we split the choir into three and sometimes four parts to enable us to explore harmonies and mixed arrangements of the songs. We cover a broad range of styles including\, pop\, gospel\, folk and traditional. \n  \nACCord is an extremely welcoming and friendly place to come and relax\, have fun and sing with like minded people. We love performing publicly and have appeared at Abingdon events over the years such as the Christmas Extravaganza\, Jubilee Festival\, turning on the Christmas lights and also local care homes. \nWe are always eager to meet new members and add to our lovely group. We meet on Tuesday evenings 7:30-9pm at Thomas Reade School. \n  \n  \n  \nThe JAM Band: \n  \nWe are a group of Christian musicians and singers with a heart to bring the joy of music to audiences. Meeting regularly at Christchurch [Abingdon]\, we see ourselves not only as a group of friends who enjoy jamming together but as a mission to spread the love of Jesus through music\, playing at various churches and charity concerts. Playing a mix of music from the 60’s to present day\, it is a blend of contemporary church music and anything from rock to ballad.
