DESCRIPTION:What does it take for us to act on the climate crisis – especially if we’re the kind of person who should already be acting? \nIn this funny\, relatable portrait\, a concerned yet ineffectual dad finds the first step is letting those unbearable feelings of climate anxiety in\, instead of pushing them aside. \nBut as he meets others like him\, he discovers how oil-backed propagandists funded our denial and paralysis. He sets out to unmask the vested interests responsible\, helping raise a generation’s leading authors in a vibrant chorus. \nMY EXTINCTION is a revealingly honest account of how to feel your feelings\, act on your privilege\, and get active when threatened with extinction. \nStay after the screening to join us for the panel discussion. Daniel\, a climate activist and student at the University of Oxford will be joining us. He has recently been arrested 4 times surrounding high profile protests at the Dippy the Dinosaur exhibit\, the King’s coronation and the 1st match day of the 2nd Ashes test between England and Australia. Other than that he says he is a big fan of cooking\, the outdoors and is qualified to teach English as a foreign language. He is happy to join One Planet Abingdon to contribute to the screening of My Extinction at The Abbey Cinema. We appreciate his time and hope you will join us too!
