DESCRIPTION:Old Abingdonian Professor Sir Martin Landray will give a fascinating talk about the discovery of an effective treatment for COVID-19 for which he received his knighthood.  From a chance meeting on a London bus on 9 March 2020 to the announcement of the life-saving nature of dexamethasone took 100 days.  Come and hear how it was achieved. \nSir Martin is Professor of Medicine & Epidemiology at Oxford Population Health\, University of Oxford\, and the Chief Executive of Protas\, a not-for-profit company\, focused on the design and delivery of highly efficient randomised trials of treatments for major public health conditions. \nProceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the OX14 Learning Partnership.
