SUMMARY:Exhibition: South Indian Years - The Art & Poetry of Oswald Couldrey
DESCRIPTION:Oswald Jennings Couldrey is Abingdon’s best-known twentieth-century artist. He was born into a local family of seed merchants and agricultural suppliers which for several generations had included musicians\, scholars and teachers\, especially at Abingdon School\, then Roysse’s School. Oswald went up to Pembroke College\, Oxford as an Abingdon Scholar\, then gained a teaching qualification and entry to the Education Service of the Indian Civil Service\, living and working in India from 1909-1919\, for eight years as Principal of the Rajamundry College of Art in Andra Pradesh.\nThis exhibition shows painting made during these years\, complimented by examples of his poetry. \nFREE ADMISSION

SUMMARY:Exhibition: 'Text & Texture' - the artworks of Pat Russell and Janet Boulton
DESCRIPTION:Pat Russell and Janet Boulton were both acclaimed artists who lived in Abingdon for many years. \nIn 1986\, they both attended a paper making workshop at Oxford Polytechnic (later Oxford Brookes University). Inspired by the possibilities of this medium\, they decided to set up their own paper making studio and start creating art using paper pulp. DESCRIPTION:Bale Play in the Barn is coming – and it’s going to be bigger and bouncier than ever! \nFor February half-term only\, High Lodge Farm is clearing out the machinery and opening the doors to our brand-new barn\, packed full of straw-filled fun for little adventurers. \nIf you loved our outdoor Big Bale Play\, you’re going to love this cosy all-weather version. Imagine mountains of giant straw bales to climb\, jump\, scramble and conquer all safely tucked inside our shiny new shed. \nThere will also be a designated under 5s area for mini explorers\, complete with small bales\, a sandpit and ride-on toys. Our much-loved barrel train rides will also be touring the farm. \nGrown-ups won’t miss out either. Enjoy a locally-roasted coffee\, cakes\, bakes and toasted sandwiches while the kids wear themselves out. \nIt’s the ultimate half-term day out. Come and play\, whatever the weather!
