SUMMARY:Exhibition - MGA 70
DESCRIPTION:Celebrating the 70th Anniversary of the MGA\, one of the most successful MG models\, this exhibition looks at the development of the design\, the influence of speed-record breakers and experimental prototypes\, and it shines a spotlight on Syd Enever\, the ‘father’ of the MGA. \nWith memories of the MG factory still present in the town\, we hope that this will be another MG story of interest to local people and to MG enthusiasts who visit us from around the world. TO bring the story to life we will display MGA-related artefacts courtesy of the MG Car Club as well as the Museum’s collection of MG models through the ages\, from the very beginning to the 21st century. \nThe MGA exhibit will run at Abingdon Museum until the end of June 2026. Be sure not to miss it!

SUMMARY:Oxfordshire Artweeks Exhibition: 'Fragments to Fabric' by Claire Frampton
DESCRIPTION:‘Fragments to Fabric’ textile artworks by Claire Frampton \nClaire Frampton takes inspiration from Spanish architect Antoni Gaudi\, museum pieces at the Ashmolean in Oxford\, including a reconstructed storage jar which was in the Rome Gallery\, to produce her artworks. SUMMARY:MG ART Workshop led by Artist-Teacher Helen Edwards
DESCRIPTION:Join Artist-Teacher Helen Edwards for an art session inspired by the MGA exhibition at the Museum.  \nThis whole day workshop will offer the opportunity to unleash your creativity and create your own MG poster by combining techniques in dry-point etching and watercolour in the same colour palette of the time. \n\nCOST – £60 (all materials included)\nLocation: Kempster Room (Museum Basement)\nTime: 10am to 3:30pm (lunch break around 12:30pm) \nBooking essential – only 10 places available\nPlease book your place at the Museum Reception\nor alternatively click  here  (booking fee applies to online purchases) \n\nHelen J S Edwards studied BA Fine Art and later completed an MA in Artist-Teacher Practice at Oxford Brookes University. She has a PGCE in Secondary Art Craft and Design. With over 25 years’ of experience\, she has taught in nursery\, primary and secondary schools. She continues to tutor adults and children privately\, and runs regular art courses and workshops at the Ashmolean Museum and other local arts establishments.\nHelen specialises in and can be commissioned for drawing\, painting and printmaking. Her artwork focuses on a fusion between eastern and western cultures\, influenced by her international upbringing. Helen exhibits during Artweeks and in-and-around Oxford.
