SUMMARY:Exhibition - MGA 70
DESCRIPTION:Celebrating the 70th Anniversary of the MGA\, one of the most successful MG models\, this exhibition looks at the development of the design\, the influence of speed-record breakers and experimental prototypes\, and it shines a spotlight on Syd Enever\, the ‘father’ of the MGA. \nWith memories of the MG factory still present in the town\, we hope that this will be another MG story of interest to local people and to MG enthusiasts who visit us from around the world. TO bring the story to life we will display MGA-related artefacts courtesy of the MG Car Club as well as the Museum’s collection of MG models through the ages\, from the very beginning to the 21st century. \nThe MGA exhibit will run at Abingdon Museum until the end of June 2026. Be sure not to miss it!

SUMMARY:9 to 5: The Musical
DESCRIPTION:Abingdon & Witney College presents 9 to 5\, with music and lyrics by Dolly Parton and a book by Patricia Resnick\, based on the iconic 1980 hit movie. \nSet in the late 1970s\, this laugh‑out‑loud story of friendship and sweet revenge in the Rolodex era is outrageous\, thought‑provoking and even a little romantic. \nPushed to breaking point\, three female co‑workers\, Violet\, Judy and Doralee\, hatch a daring plan to take on their sexist\, egotistical\, lying\, hypocritical boss. We also offer a safe place to play\, paint and meet like-minded people with the same interest. Beginners and experienced players are all welcome. \nThe society is a non-profit organisation made to further enjoyment of the hobby in all aspects. Whilst these are the main games played there is always room for others and we have board games such as\, Rumble Slam\, Scythe and many more. \nThe club is based above the willows shake shop at the heart of Abingdon town centre and sessions take place on Mondays and Wednesday between 6:30pm and 10:00pm. On Saturday it starts at 10:30am and ends at 4:00pm. There will always be one committee member at each session to welcome you\, and of course me on a Wednesday. \nIf you want to know more you can email (bloodandwar40@gmail.com) or check out our website (https:/a-grim-dark-gaming-society.square.site/). \nIn the evenings and at the weekend you can get refreshments downstairs such as milkshakes\, coffee tea and cold drinks so there’s a wide variety of hot or cold food available\, depending on your taste. All in all this is a great opportunity for people who want to play strategy games for a small fee or you can watch the games and seek advice for free.

SUMMARY:True Foxes with support from Painted Sky
DESCRIPTION:Having performed over 700 shows (and counting) since forming in 2019\, True Foxes\, the acclaimed Alt-Country/Americana\, cousin-duo from Cornwall\, are quickly gaining recognition in the UK and beyond. Following the release of their debut album ‘Howl’ in March 2024\, the duo have been featured on numerous international radio stations\, being named as Americana Album of the Month on The Country Mile Radio and UK Country Radio and have received glowing reviews from AmericanaUK\, Rocking Magpie\, and Fatea magazine. \nAmie’s powerful vocals and soulful songwriting has been compared to the likes of Laura Marling and Brandi Carlile\, performing on Acoustic Guitar. Together with Chloe’s ethereal harmonies and melodic bass lines\, the duo’s storytelling and sisterly banter take the audience on an emotional journey. \nIn 2024 the duo demonstrated their musical range with main stage performances at Costa Del Folk festival in Portugal\, Cornwall folk Festival as well as full band performances at The British Country music Festival and Tunes in the Park (supporting Sophie Ellis-Bexter). \nThey then entered 2025 with a sold out headline tour in the spring followed by a summer packed full of main stage performances including Between the Trees\, Tunes in the Dunes\, OceanFest and Sidmouth Folk Festival\, joining forces with folk legend Steve Knightley ahead of their 2025 autumn tour . After the success of their debut album in 2024\, True Foxes have begun working on their second album\, due to be released early 2026! \nWith extensive airplay across the UK and internationally\, including recognition as BBC Artist of the Week across 8 territories\, True Foxes continue to captivate audiences. \nSupport is from siblings Holly & George Brandon aka Painted Sky.
