Hire Boats

Abingdon also offers day boat hire – ranging from self-driven small electric and motor boats to rowing boats – these can hired from the Abingdon Boat Centre.

Boat Day Trips

Salters Steamers provide day trips from Abingdon to Oxford, 7-days a week between late May and September Heritage Open weekend; they also provide other boats trips along the Thames. Wallingford Abingdon return operates mid-July and August. Please check when travelling for a boat excursion as river conditions can vary and Environment Agency locks, speed of water, current, height of river in relation to bridges can affect all riverside towns and villages.
