DESCRIPTION:Join me for free\, drop-in children’s clay workshops filled with creativity and fun! \nIn this activity young makers can learn how to create a pinch pot and use a range of tools to design a beautiful summer-themed pot. Clay is included with the workshop\, and you can take your pot home at the end of the session. \nTime: 10:30am – 12:30pm & 1:30pm – 3:30pm\nLocation: Kempster Room (Museum Basement) \nEntry is free but seating is limited\, both sessions will run on a first-come first-served basis. Our museum volunteers will help families to take part in the workshop. \nAbout the Artist:\nKayleigh O’Donnell is an Abingdon potter and recent Great Pottery Throw Down quarter finalist.\nHer exhibition ‘Cherished Clay’ will showcases Kayleigh’s creative work whilst on the television series as well as her recent makes.

DESCRIPTION:Paint Abingdon Pink\nRaising Awareness (2009–Present) \nThis exhibition charts the evolution of the event from its beginnings in October 2009 through to the present day. News cuttings and imagery follow moments such as its expansion in scale\, the adaptation to a virtual format in 2020\, and its renaming in 2025 to Paint Abingdon Pink. Working with Abingdon and Witney College a series of flyers/posters and logo concepts were designed by students; there is also a showcase all acts involved in this year’s event. \nThe exhibition concludes on the weekend of Paint Abingdon Pink\, raising awareness of breast cancer\, donations will be welcomed and contribute to help them continue their vital research. \nFREE Admission \nAttic Gallery

DESCRIPTION:Celebrating the 70th Anniversary of the MGA\, one of the most successful MG models\, this exhibition looks at the development of the design\, the influence of speed-record breakers and experimental prototypes\, and it shines a spotlight on Syd Enever\, the ‘father’ of the MGA. \nWith memories of the MG factory still present in the town\, we hope that this will be another MG story of interest to local people and to MG enthusiasts who visit us from around the world. TO bring the story to life we will display MGA-related artefacts courtesy of the MG Car Club as well as the Museum’s collection of MG models through the ages\, from the very beginning to the 21st century. \nThe MGA exhibit will run at Abingdon Museum until the end of June 2026. Be sure not to miss it!

SUMMARY:Exhibition: South Indian Years - The Art & Poetry of Oswald Couldrey
DESCRIPTION:Oswald Jennings Couldrey is Abingdon’s best-known twentieth-century artist. He was born into a local family of seed merchants and agricultural suppliers which for several generations had included musicians\, scholars and teachers\, especially at Abingdon School\, then Roysse’s School. Oswald went up to Pembroke College\, Oxford as an Abingdon Scholar\, then gained a teaching qualification and entry to the Education Service of the Indian Civil Service\, living and working in India from 1909-1919\, for eight years as Principal of the Rajamundry College of Art in Andra Pradesh.\nThis exhibition shows painting made during these years\, complimented by examples of his poetry. \nFREE ADMISSION

DESCRIPTION:2025 marks the 80th anniversary of the end of World War 2\, and our exhibition looks back at Abingdon in war and peace in 1945. Learn how the war impacted the lives of local people through food shortages\, the threat of air raids\, war work in the industries\, and the influx of evacuees and armed forces personnel. Take a closer look at the roles of women and how they experienced the war and the post-war period.
