Most walks will be run by the Ramblers and are a great way to take your walking up to the next level. Or join the Community Walks team to try walking for the first time as a gentle pastime that does you good on so many levels\, mental\, physical\, spiritual and social. Back in the Market Place you can talk to groups like Walking Football\, Walking Tennis and other walking sports\, or have a go with Nordic Walking poles to see if this wonder-workout system is for you! Chiropractors will be on hand to check your posture and there are an array of leaflets and information for those who prefer to walk in their own way and their own time. DESCRIPTION:Grow it\, cook it\, share it\, love it. \nCome and join our new festival – a celebration and a learning experience. \nOur Plot to Plate Community Festival will celebrate growing\, cooking and eating vegetables. It is a chance to try new recipes\, learn new growing tips\, improve your cooking skills and consider rebalancing your diet. Cooking recipes with higher vegetable content is a great way to stretch the family budget and bring healthier options to your table and the savings are increased if you grow your own\, as well as creating a stress-busting family activity across all ages. \nPlot to Plate will include fun activities for families as well as the classes\, talks and tastings focused on vegetable growing\, cooking and eating. The organisers want to create an event that is fun and light-hearted even though the things you can learn while you are there could have a big impact on your life and health and the planet. \nThe daytime festival starts at 11am. Entry is free but we are asking people to register for the talks and workshops so that we can manage numbers.  The Long Gallery Tea Room is open for elevenses\, lunch and afternoon teas. No more entries through the gate after 4.30pm. Final event of the day is Gardeners Question Time in the Unicorn Theatre starting at 4.30pm. \nFrom 6.00pm there is a ceilidh. Dancing starts around 6.30pm until 9.30pm with a one hour break in the middle. Bar and evening meal service.
