DESCRIPTION:The Rotary Club of Abingdon proudly announces that the 42nd World Pooh Sticks Championships will take place on Sunday 25th May at Sandford lock. \nPre-registration and further information can be found online at https://poohsticks.uk/ . Registration on the day will be from 11am. \nWe are very grateful to the Environment Agency\, especially Aidan the lock keeper\, to allow us to hold the event here again. \nThe surplus from the event  will be used for Rotary Charities; local and international\, helping people less fortunate than ourselves.

DESCRIPTION:This will be the 12th annual Definitely Not A Pub Quiz; and it is still a popular event in the Rotary calendar. You book a table\, so you invite your own friends; no last minute surprises.\nNot a pub quiz\, as each table gets free bread\, cheese and pickle supper\, plus a couple of bottles of wine. Loose Cannon beer\, is also available at the bar.\nSeven rounds of 10 questions\, all fully illustrated on a big screen\, with music clips and film clips. Printed book for your answers. No one needs to ask ‘What was question three again?’. An electronic scoreboard to quickly show where you stand in progress to winning the prize.\nSome people say they have so much fun chatting to their friends\, and look\, there’s a quiz going on. There are also some teams vying for the wooden spoon\, not the prize.\nA raffle with five John Lewis vouchers of £30 each.\nOver the years we have raised loads of money for Rotary Charities. Typically these are local youth\, and international disasters.\nDuring covid\, we ran 24 consecutive\, monthly\, free zoom online versions of DNAPQ for the community. This is now less frequent\, but if you have a team that would like to join (you can be indifferent locations) ask Richard at dnapquiz@gmail.com \, to include your email on the list.
