In Abingdon-on-Thames there are still a range of places where you can get information or advice from a friendly face, not just a computer screen. Some services have had limited face-to-face customer service recently but all phones and email services are available and staff can serve people where necessary.
Whether its bus times and opening times, help with family problems or some information about the town or the local services, there are a number of organisations you can turn to in the town centre. Read the descriptions below to see which ones will be of most use to you.
A Safe Places scheme operates in all local towns. Look for a yellow and orange sticker when you or a friend or relative needs to find a friendly face – for instance if someone is feeling vulnerable, lost, unwell.
Health and emergencies are dealt with in a different section – click here to get emergency numbers.
Call at Abingdon Library for County Council general services. Some health visitor and community service appointments will be at New Abbey House OX14 3JE.
