Local Excellence draws the crowds

“Perfect day – great atmosphere” was the verdict of shoppers and stallholders today at the Local Excellence Market held on the Market Place. Local foods from farms around the area combined with craftworkers and creative recyclers to make a spectacle of colour and activity that made the town centre buzz.

Star of today’s market was Vallis Green Woodworking running the “Have a Go” green woodworking sessions on the pole lathe. Definitely a boy’s toy, this drew a fascinated crowd of Dads and sons watching the woodturner’s skill, and having a go themselves. It wasn’t long before the girls joined in too though.
