The Spring Rides Cycling Festival welcomes everyone. It is put on by the Freewheeling Cycling Club and involved Abibike and keen cyclists. This is an April fixture which always seems to catch the first days of perfect springtime weather. The group’s ethos is to encourage all ages, abilities and people to have a go at cycling, or expand their horizons if they already cycle a little. They offer a day full of rides radiating out from the Market Place where the live music, food, bike displays make for a fine atmosphere even for people not joning a ride. Mountain bikers rub shoulders with road racers, the 50 milers talk with the 5 milers. Everyone including small children has a great time in this all-inclusive cycling event.
