Abingdon-on-Thames has almost every sport you can name either in the town or very close by. First port of call for a lot of people is the White Horse Leisure and Tennis Centre. This is run by a not-for-profit company on a contract to District and a lot of money has been put back into upgrading facilities. The swimming pool is open from early morning until late evening.
There are pitches for sports at Tilsley Park in North Abingdon for team games and athletics. Floodlighting allows training and matches to take place in the evening. Abingdon Marathon sets off from here on the third Sunday in October.
The Park Run part of a national movement takes places on Saturday mornings using the Abbey Meadow. All the town’s clubs are given in our directory here.
