Every summer for a number of years the town council has organised events for residents. Abbey Gardens has filled up with rides, face painting, live music, some great street food stalls, bouncy inflatables and many more free activities for Fun in the Park.
Local groups and societies are invited to set up stalls to advertise their activities and encourage people to join in.
Music in the Park is an evening event often held on the same day and usually ticketed. There is space for picnics and for dancing on the grass. Live bands and a proms style concert and fireworks make the end of the evening very special.
