The town council established an urgency committee to deal with council business while restrictions were in place on in-person meetings during 2021, a consequence of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The town council’s usual standing committees met online as advisory committees and considered all the usual business. Any decisions to be taken were recommended by these committees to be ratified by the urgency committee, the only committee which met in person during this period.
The urgency committee consisted of five members who met in person in accordance with the restrictions which existed at the time.
