The Guildhall is a building surrounded by a fascinating history. Each of the rooms tells a story, with information about the Roysse Room dating back to as early as 1440. The Guildhall accommodates six rooms, five of which – the Council Chamber, Bear Room, Abbey Room, Roysse Room and the Mayor’s Parlour – are located in the historical section of the building. The more recent section, built in 1966, houses the Abbey Hall, currently being operated as a cinema.
