The Guildhall is a building surrounded by a fascinating history. Each of the rooms tells a story, with information about the Roysse Room dating back to as early as 1440. The Guildhall accommodates six rooms located in the historical section of the building – the Abbey Room, Bear Room, Council Chamber, Old Magistrates’ Court, Roysse Room, and the Mayor’s Parlour. The more recent section, built in 1966, houses the Abbey Hall, currently being operated as a cinema.
