DESCRIPTION:In this talk\, Adam Bows (Interim Regional Programme Manager\, Freshwater Habitats Trust) will explain how by working with landowners\, implementing carefully designed and NFM techniques in catchment headwaters can reduce flood risk to downstream communities. NFM features Adam will illustrate with real-world examples include leaky dams\, field-corner bunds\, cross-valley bunds and debris dams. Freshwater Habitats Trust hosts the Ock Catchment Partnership and is seeking to deliver NFM in the Ock.

Our speaker\, Dr Sailesh Rao is the Founder and Executive Director of Climate Healers\, a non-profit organisation dedicated towards healing the Earth’s climate. He is an environmentalist by occupation and systems engineer by profession. His latest book\, “There is a Planet B”\, will be launched at the Oxford Literary Festival on April 2nd. His talk will explore how “Vegan Rewilding” could be the solution to our global environmental\, health and ethical crises. We look forward to a fascinating evening!
