The Old Abbey House, former Town Council Offices
The history section of this site gives information on the Trendell family who purchased Abbey land. Former names include Gooseberry Court.
This beautiful building was the official residence of the Bishop of Reading, used for meetings and receptions when Abingdon Borough was in Berkshire.
For fifteen years the Town Council and its Visitor and Community Information Centre were located here. Abingdon-on-Thames Town Council moved to Roysse Court, Guildhall in 2013.
