Anglers from outside the town are able to buy a permit to fish at low cost. Apply from 7th June 2021. Please email your full Name and Address to enquiries@abingdon.gov.uk and an arrangement will be made for payment by BACS. We prefer not to accept cheques this year.
We will confirm by e-mail that we have issued you with a permit and added you to the register of anglers.
The terms and conditions of fishing can be found here and must be read and complied with by all.
Our permit allows you to fish on the land occupied by the ‘Abingdon Waters’. By law you still need a licence an Environment Agency ‘Rod Licence’. For more information on the fishing tackle and equipment needed to fish correctly and for Rod Licences please click here.
You should take the fishing permit with you and have proof of address at all times when fishing. Carry permit, rod licence, proof of address.
For a day ticket it will be essential that payment is given preferably four working days in advance of your chosen date so that Abingdon Water Keeper can be informed that you have paid. You will need proof with you.
Match bookings are also being accepted for which the number of anglers needs to be known.
Sorry, you are not able to get an existing permit stamped and any questions must be answered by email not calling in person. Please keep your old permit if you would like it stamped later.
