Number 41 bus
Abingdon Town Council funds the 41 bus service which runs on weekdays and connects north and south Abingdon and links to the Marcham Road shopping area.

Connect to London
Along with the local bus services, there are buses that run direct from Oxford to London at regular intervals, 24 hours a day. For more information see:

Train
Abingdon does not have a railway station but there are several stations nearby which link-up with regular bus services to Abingdon. Timetables alter over the Christmas period. Deals are available if you are able to plan in advance and travel at non-peak times. Local train stations:

- Oxford – 7 miles
- Didcot Parkway – 8 miles

Driving
Abingdon civic car parks offer an hour of free parking in civic car parks and there are plenty of town centre car parks. Please remember to read the terms of use on the car park display boards.

On street parking is available on the streets below and you will need to pay to park there:

The Abingdon town centre and Withington Court Residents Parking scheme is now operated by contractors for Oxfordshire County Council. Abingdon Town Council no longer involved in managing the schemes.

Electric vehicles
Electric charging of vehicles is expanding and more sites are becoming available all the time at public car parks. Car charging is available at Waitrose and in the Cattle Market Car Park on Abbey Close, OX14 3JD.
Larger vehicles can charge up at Frilford to the west of town. More information can be found at www.zap-map.com
Coaches
There is a drop off point for one coach at Hales Meadow at Abingdon Bridge, which offers visitors a short, level stroll into town. Walk on the pavement by the Nag’s Head, the Broad Face and the Crown and Thistle and you come to the Information Office on Bridge Street.
The heritage area is beautiful but there are some narrow streets. During the Abingdon Michaelmas Fair in October, coaches and HGVs are not able to approach the town centre or any civic car park
Taxis
The Square (OX14 5AR) where the war memorial is situated is the main taxi rank in Abingdon. During town centre events such as the Michaelmas Fair in October, taxis are located at Stratton Way where it joins Wootton Road.
