The town council adopted a flag policy on 20 March 2024 which informs which flag is flown from the County Hall museum each day. The full policy can be viewed below and here and a list of the flags to be flown through the year can be viewed below.
Union Flag
The Union flag is flown throughout the year and takes precedence over all other flags. It should always be flown on dates designated annually by HM Government.
Abingdon Town Flag
The town flag is hoisted the day before the annual meeting of the town council and Mayor-making and will remain for the following week. It is hoisted the day before the Mayor’s birthday, to be flown for the following week. It is also hoisted the day before the Annual Civic Service, to be flown for the following week.
