Each year the town council provides community grants to a range of local groups and organisations. In 2025-26, the town council has a budget of £35,000 available for grants.
Grant applications are considered by the Community committee which meets four times a year. Grant applications are assessed based on the town council’s aims and objectives and on the benefit the group, activity or event brings to the local community in Abingdon-on-Thames. How to apply for a grant
If you would like to apply for a grant for your organisation you can download the two grant application forms here or at the bottom of this page then save, complete and return them with the supporting information. You will need to complete forms A and B and provide the requested information for your grant application to be considered.
Grants available from elsewhere
Grants awarded by the Abingdon-on-Thames Town Council must benefit the town or its residents. If your project benefits the town and/or residents but also benefits other parishes or people from outside of Abingdon then you may also wish to apply for grant funds from other parishes. Not all parishes have funds available and like Abingdon-on-Thames Town Council they will need to see that your project benefits the parish and its residents.
Oxfordshire Community Foundation
Oxfordshire Community Foundation offers grants from a range of sources across Oxfordshire and may be able to help with your project.
