Gentle Angry Women film and Q&A with director
11th March - 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Abbey Cinema in Abingdon are showing a new film about Greenham Common Women’s Peace Camp, “Gentle Angry Women”, followed by a Q&A with the director, Barbara Santi of Folklife Films. It follows 3 teenage women as they learn about Greenham Common Peace Camp for the first time, and realise the parallels with their own activism today. Now a nature-rich common, Greenham Common was a USAF base which housed nuclear-armed Cruise Missiles for about 9 years in the 1980s. Many Abingdon residents supported the protests which led eventually to its removal.
