Lazy Sunday Crafternoon – Boho Bangles and Beads
Our Lazy Sunday Crafternoon at the One Planet Abingdon Climate Emergency Centre is a monthly craft session for adults (over 14s only please), led by Kay, aka the Upcycled Bag Lady.
The idea is to spend a relaxed and friendly couple of hours on an easy and fun upcycling project, and to enjoy being creative while finding ways to reduce waste (and use up Kay’s massive craft stash!). Tea, cake and chat will happen too.
Places are limited so please book your space in advance. There is no charge for the session, but there are some costs so, if you are able, feeding the One Planet Abingdon piggy bank will allow us to keep the workshops free for all.
July is festival season so this month we’ll be making Boho Bangles and Beads. We’ll be wrapping items in scrap fabric, thread, wire and beads to create colourful and unique stacking bangles and funky large beads that can be made into key rings, pendants, bag charms , mobiles…. it’s up to you!
There will be plenty of materials available at the workshop but if you happen to have any of the following already to bring along, they would be welcome:
old metal, wood or plastic bangles that are maybe a bit tarnished or worse for wear (please don’t bring anything precious, we’ll be gluing fabric to them)
jewellery pliers or wire snips
