Music workshop – Play a reggae song from scratch
LIMITED SPACES – BOOKING NECESSARY (see link)
This free workshop will be lead by Dorothy Shaw who has a Diploma in Music Education from Rockschool (2011) and has run many workshops and classes in jazz and also children’s keyboard.
If you play an instrument please bring it along, except for keyboard which will be provided (and sanitised between users). There won’t be room for drum kits but Dorothy will bring some percussion instruments for drummers or those who prefer not to sing but want to play something.
The song is one that Dorothy wrote specially for COP-26 encouraging people to do whatever they can to help in our environmental emergency. It’s very easy and catchy. We will use learning by ear, note names / chord symbols and written music so people can learn by whichever method suits them.
During the session we will split the group into harmony / rhythm and melody / vocals to learn the parts, then come together and perform the song
