Condolences following events at Bicester Motion
On behalf of Abingdon-on-Thames Town Council and residents of Abingdon. I want to express my very sincere condolences to the families of the two firefighters, Jennie Logan and Martyn Sadler, and also David Chester who worked at the Bicester Motion site – the three of them tragically lost their lives in the fire at Bicester Motion.
We all dial “999” and expect our emergency services to attend quickly. This is a terrible reminder that firefighters, as well as the other members of the emergency services, put themselves at risk on a daily basis, to protect us all. We owe them a deep debt of gratitude.
We are deeply saddened by these events, and our thoughts are with the family, colleagues and friends of those who have died in this tragic incident.
The flag above Abingdon’s County Hall will be flown at half-mast for the next seven days in memory of this tragic event.
