Hope & Clay Works During Half-Term (27 – 31 October 2025)
Hope & Clay will return briefly during the half-term week (27–31 October) to carry out a detailed investigation under an approved County permit, scheduled during a period of lower traffic.
Traffic management will include:
- Two-way temporary traffic lights with smart signal control
- Temporary pedestrian signals
- A traffic-management operative on standby for manual control (7 a.m.–7 p.m.)
- A pedestrian ramp on the east side of the temporary crossing
The purpose of this work is to determine whether the unidentified pipes found on-site are redundant and can be safely removed, or whether alternative action is required.
Once this investigation is complete and findings are confirmed, Hope & Clay will proceed to the Section 278 stage, involving the full construction of the roundabout with new lanes and layout, followed by reinstatement and site tidy-up.
Should the investigation indicate that further steps are necessary, these will be addressed in coordination with the relevant authorities.
The project team recognises the ongoing disruption and appreciates the continued patience of residents and road users.
If the investigation proceeds as planned, Hope & Clay will be required to submit a clear, safe, and efficient plan for completing the remaining pipework and roundabout construction. The Town Council will continue to advocate for the final phase to be delivered as efficiently as possible.
