Are you a keen home baker? Abingdon Cake Club is a new, fun, informal space for baking enthusiasts – come and join us!

Meetings are every 6-8 weeks, from 7-9pm in a lovely café in Abingdon town centre and are full of cake, chat and friendliness.

Everyone brings along a cake to share big enough to cut into about 8 slices. These are based loosely around the theme for the meeting – for example themes for the first 2 meetings were Spring Fling and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. When everyone’s arrived, we have a great time sampling each other’s cakes, chatting and swapping tips and recipes. Drinks are provided, at a cost, by the venue.

At the end of the evening, we then share out all the cake that’s left, so everyone – including guests – goes home with a box of delicious cake.

The Club’s aim is to foster happy connections between members of our community, as well as giving bakers the opportunity to practise their skills. There’s no competition involved – this isn’t Bake Off!  Instead, people are invited to use their imaginations and creativity in interpreting the theme.  Everyone’s welcome – you don’t have to have lots of experience, just a love of baking and eating cake, and talking about it!
