Lazy Sunday Crafternoon – Denim Feathers
Our Lazy Sunday Crafternoon at the One Planet Abingdon Climate Emergency Centre is a monthly craft session for adults (over 14s only please), led by Kay, aka the Upcycled Bag Lady.
The idea is to spend a relaxed and friendly couple of hours on an easy and fun upcycling project, and to enjoy being creative while finding ways to reduce waste (and use up Kay’s massive craft stash!). Tea, cake and chat will happen too.
Places are limited so please book your space in advance. There is no charge for the session, but there are some costs so, if you are able, feeding the One Planet Abingdon piggy bank will allow us to keep the workshops free for all.
Jeans are wonderful for upcycling – the fabric is great for bags and purses, the seams can be used as string, and we even wear funky denim aprons in the CEC. I
This crafty no sew upcycle uses the small scraps left over after those projects. We’ll be cutting out feather shapes, picking out threads and embellishing the results to make pretty feathers. These can be used for jewellery, key rings, bookmarks, wall hangings, decorations… that part is up to you..
Materials and tools will be provided, but if you happen to have scraps of denim or beads that you like to use, do feel free to bring them.
