Sketchbook and Skills Workshop – for children
Join Abingdon Artists to explore the arts and creativity theme of this year’s Heritage Open Days. We will tell you a bit about ourselves, show you some of our art from the local area and demonstrate how to create your own concertina sketchbooks using local architecture as inspiration. FREE Children’s workshops at 10 am & 1pm and last one hour. Tickets must be book in advance
Children will be given the opportunity to make their own folding sketchbook, on which to create some of Abingdon’s historic buildings and try out some of our favourite techniques. Children will be allowed to keep their sketchbook and it is hoped they will visit other historic houses that are open during the Heritage Open days in order to complete it.
An exhibition of Abingdon Artists work inspired by the locality will also be on display in the Shed at the bottom of St Ethelwold’s Garden Saturday 16th of September and Sunday 17th September 10am – 3.30pm. Please visit to meet our artists and enjoy their work.
Tea and refreshments will also be served in the gardens to raise money for St Ethelwolds.
