Zero Waste Event

The New Mayor of Abingdon, Cllr Cheryl Briggs attended the Abingdon Carbon Cutters event this morning (29th May) to promote the use of reusable coffee cups.

They were distributing free reusable coffee cups and providing more information about the push to become plastic free (and also had homemade cakes available too!)

In Summer 2019 Abingdon became the 65th UK community to be granted “Plastic-Free” status in recognition of the level of commitment in our community to reduce single use plastic and the pollution it causes, and in line with the council’s key objective to respond effectively and speedily to the climate emergency, you are actively encouraged to ensure your litter is disposed of in a sustainable way.
