Heritage Exhibition Opens
Abingdon volunteers opened a new exhibition at the Community Shop today. All through this week, leading up to Heritage Weekend (Sep 14-15), Abingdon residents and visitors will be able to wander in and have a look at the fascinating photographs and pictures of Abingdon-on-Thames as it was in times gone by. This town has an absolute wealth of history and well preserved historical buildings and many of them will be open on Sep 14th and 15th. To find out more have a look at the free exhibition in the Community Shop any weekday this week and ask for a leaflet. If you want to browse for more historical information right here and now try clicking on the HISTORY tab at the top of this page to view the in-depth resource compiled by our local historians.
The Community Shop is a Choose Abingdon project made possible by Scottish Widows and New River Retail. If your group or society would like to use it for a week pop along to the shop to have a look and use the contact details given in the window display to find out more. Located opposite The Gift Centre in Bury Street Shopping Centre.
