RE: CONSULTATION – Northcourt Road (Abingdon) Proposed Traffic Calming Amendments
We are writing to seek your views on the proposals to amend the existing traffic calming features (which are in a poor state of repair) along the entire length of Northcourt Road in Abingdon. Specifically the proposals seek to: a) replace the existing speed humps with 5 pairs of individual speed cushions, with each cushion being 3m long, 1.75m wide & 75mm high (with gradients no steeper than 1 in 8), and b) replace the existing ‘informal’ crossing points with 4 newly constructed ones, which will be approx. 4.65m long & 5.5m wide, including ramp lengths of 1.1m & height of 75mm (with gradients no steeper than 1 in 15). The proposals are being put forward in conjunction with the extensive re-surfacing scheme (i.e. the entire length of the road) planned to take place in August 2020. In light of this, please find the following consultation documents below;
The proposed Traffic scheme is due to be advertised in the Oxfordshire Herald newspaper today; Wednesday 08th April 2020, and details are also available to view on the Councils consultation pages at the address below:
