Hire Boats
Abingdon offers day boat hire, ranging from self-driven small electric and motor boats to rowing boats. These can be hired from the Abingdon Boat Centre.
Boat Day Trips
Salters Steamers provide day trips from Abingdon to Oxford, 7-days a week between late May and the September Heritage Open Weekend. They also provide other boat trips along the Thames.
A Wallingford-Abingdon return trip operates in mid-July and August. Please check when travelling for a boat excursion as river conditions can vary and Environment Agency locks, speed of water, current, and the height of the river in relation to bridges can affect all riverside towns and villages.
