The town council provides a Christmas tree and Christmas light displays in many of the main streets in the town centre. Lights are switched on at the annual Christmas Extravaganza event at the end of November or start of December. The Christmas Lights are subject to a rolling programme of renewals and are stored and safety checked every year. We use energy efficient lights in all our displays.
