Your representatives on Abingdon-on-Thames Town Council

The current Council was elected on 2nd May 2019.  Following boundary changes to the wards which came into effect for this election, there are 19 Councillors representing the different wards of Abingdon-on-Thames. The size of wards varies considerably and therefore there are differing numbers of representatives for each ward; Caldecott is the largest with four Town Councillors and Fitzharris Wildmoor the smallest with just one. The Mayor and Deputy Mayor are elected annually each May.

Cllr Gabby Barody (Liberal Democrat) represents the Northcourt ward. She sits on the Finance and General purposes Committee.

Cllr Charlie Birks (Liberal Democrat) represents the Peachcroft Ward. At the Council's Annual Meeting and Mayor Making which took place on 13th May 2019, Councillor Birks was elected Mayor for 2019/20. The Mayor is ex-officio a member of all Council committees, sub-committees and working groups.

Cllr Samantha Bowring (Liberal Democrat) represents Caldecott Ward and is the Chair of the Finance and General Purposes Committee and Leader of the Council.  As Leader of the Council she is, ex-officio, a member of all Council committees, sub-committees and working groups. Cllr Cheryl Briggs (Green) represents the Abbey Ward. She sits on the Guildhall Committee and the County Hall Museum Management Committee. At the Council's Annual Meeting and Mayor Making which took place on 13th May 2019, Councillor Briggs was elected Deputy Mayor for 2019/20.
