Parish Meeting

The Parish Meeting is a meeting of the local government electors of Abingdon-on-Thames which may be attended by all electors of the town.

Under statute an Annual Parish Meeting is convened annually  by the Mayor and must take place between 1st March and 1st June each year. The Mayor chairs the meeting and the meeting itself is organised by the Town Council but it is not a meeting of the Town Council itself.  Whilst it is not a legal requirement, the Council takes the opportunity at the Annual Parish Meeting to provide updates on its work. The Chairmen of the Council's various Committees present a report to the meeting to detail what the Committee has been doing during the last year.

A Special Parish Meeting may also be convened at any time and the Mayor, Cllr Jan Morter, convened a Meeting which took place on Monday 15th January 2018 in the Roysse Room, the Guildhall.  The agenda and the draft minutes of the meeting may be found by clicking on the relevant document link below.

Public Meeting in relation to Abbey Hall and Guildhall

Due to space constraints not everyone was able to get in to the Special Parish Meeting on 15th January 2018.

Consequently the Mayor offered to organise a meeting for those who could not get in to the meeting of 15th January 2018 and the draft minutes of this meeting may be viewed by clicking on the relevant document link below.
